Position Description
The primary duties of the Transportation Sr. Construction Manager includes responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control. Additionally, develops procedures for executing such activities and implements procedures in coordination with project team. Also capable of performing additional construction management activities including development procurement - construction schedules, construction subcontracts scopes, review of subcontracts terms and conditions, performance of constructability and value engineering reviews, construction estimating and schedule reviews, and project construction performance presentations. The Sr. Construction Manager will also be responsible for: Administering and managing construction activities; monitoring progress of the overall design as related to construction requirements; performing value engineering and constructability reviews; coordinating local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field; assisting in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages; coordinating, expediting, and reviewing construction submittals;controlling the project budget and schedule; coordinating and managing project quality assurance and control, and inspection services; ensuring subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections; preparing and updating project schedules, pay requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reports; coordinating local bidding efforts; and project setup and temporary facilities.

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or equivalent.
Must have TXDOT experience, or experience leading D/B Bundles and/or programs on large Transportation programs.
10+ years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management including, but not limited to estimating, bidding, preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, cost control, etc.
Experience with estimating software (Timberline preferred), scheduling software (Primavera P3 or SureTrak preferred), and project management software (Prolog preferred).
Previous experience in the field is required.
Must have strong people skills and the ability to interact with the design team.
